After growing my TikTok to 30,000 plus followers and making it my number one business lead generator I’ve successfully mastered the art of selling on this platform. Today I’m sharing my top tips for effectively marketing your business on TikTok.
MAKE YOUR BIO SIMPLE & TO THE POINT
TikTok only allows for a very small bio unlike other social media platforms so you have to use that little amount of space wisely! Your bio should immediately tell viewers what you do and what your page is about. Try adding emojis for extra personality.
PROVIDE VALUE, TELL A STORY, OR ENTERTAIN
No matter where you’re showing up online you should be showing up with value, a story, or entertainment. TikTok users will scroll passed your video if they aren’t hooked within the first two seconds. You must start out your video with a headline or story plot that makes users want to continue watching.
GET CREATIVE
The one thing I love about TikTok is that you can create skits based on trending sounds that relate to your business, truly have fun, and experiment with different types of videos without being punished.
HOP ON TRENDS
If you’re scrolling through your “for you page” and notice a recurring sound or trend people are doing, save it! Apply that trend to your own business in a unique way, this is one of the key things that helped me grow on TikTok.
LINK YOUR IG AND YOUTUBE CHANNEL
If you don’t yet have the availability to add a link to your bio you must ensure you link your instagram page or YouTube channel!
DON’T TREAT TIKTOK LIKE INSTAGRAM
The number one mistake I see TikTok newbies make is that they treat TikTok like Instagram when in reality they aren’t the same at all. You should be creating video content on TikTok, utilizing trending sounds, and using between 3 – 4 hashtags. You should also ensure the videos you’re making contain fast transitions rather than slow conversations or long endless scenes.
KEEP POSTING
It took me nearly 57 videos before I went “viral” for the first time. It takes the TikTok algorithm a little while to pick up your account so don’t get discouraged and give up too soon.
